About Galerie Bleu

Our story

Galerie Bleu pays homage to the particular quality of light that falls on Collioure — that famous Mediterranean luminescence, refracted by terracotta and sea, that has drawn painters to this Vermillion Coast fishing village for more than a century.

The collection

The permanent and rotating collection spans the full visual range of Collioure: the bell tower of the Église Notre-Dame-des-Anges reflected in the harbour at dusk; the stacked shadows of laundry-hung alleyways in the Quartier du Mouré; the bleached geometry of the Château Royal rising against a white August sky; fishing boats pulled ashore at low tide; the vineyards of the Côte Vermeille burning gold in autumn, rendered in tones of cobalt and Prussian blue.
